How to choose the right filter size?
The larger the filtering surface (and the amount of sand), the more effective the filtration and the longer the backwash cycles. The size is chosen according to the water volume and the pump's flow rate. If in doubt, our team can help you match the filter and pump.

Frequently asked questions about Pentair sand filters
What size sand filter should I choose?
The size depends on the pool's volume and the pump's flow rate: a larger filter filters better and needs less frequent backwashing. It's better to avoid undersizing; our team can advise you.
What's the difference between Sand Dollar, Cristal-Flo II, and Tagelus?
The Sand Dollar is a compact and economical one-piece unit; the Cristal-Flo II focuses on high performance; the Tagelus is known for its robustness, with a 2-inch valve.
Is sand included with the filter?
Filter sand is usually sold separately. Tell us your model, and we'll specify the required quantity.
Are replacement parts available?
Yes. Consult our sand filter parts (valves, gaskets, pressure gauges, unions) to maintain your Pentair filter.
