Discover our UV pool systems at Piscines Geyser, your specialist in Quebec since 2004. The UV system uses ultraviolet light to eliminate bacteria, viruses, and parasites, complementing chlorine or salt, for clearer, cleaner, and safer water with fewer chemicals. Delivery throughout Quebec and Canada.
How does a UV system work?
Water passes through a chamber where a UV-C lamp neutralizes microorganisms (some of which are chlorine-resistant, such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia). Installed after the filter, it reduces the need for chlorine and significantly improves swimming comfort.
Our UV systems
Pentair BioShield
The BioShield 80 W (522636, 45 GPM) and 120 W (522637, 62 GPM) systems, with replacement UV lamp 523036 available.
Helios
The Helios 75 W and 130 W UV systems, for effective disinfection according to your installation's flow rate.
As a complement to chlorine or salt
The UV system does not completely replace the disinfectant, but it reduces the amount needed and improves water quality. It integrates with most existing filtration systems. See also our salt systems and our chemicals.

Frequently asked questions about UV systems
Does the UV system replace chlorine?
No, but it significantly reduces the need for it. A residual disinfectant is still recommended to protect the water between passes through the UV chamber.
What power (W/GPM) should I choose?
It depends on your pump's flow rate and the volume of the pool: for example, the BioShield 80 W covers up to 45 GPM and the 120 W up to 62 GPM.
What maintenance is required for a UV system?
Little maintenance: the UV lamp is replaced periodically (generally once per season or according to the manufacturer) and the quartz sleeve is cleaned as needed.
Is it suitable for above-ground and in-ground pools?
Yes. The system is installed on the return piping and is suitable for both in-ground and above-ground residential pools.
