Frequently asked questions about Praher products
What is a disconnectable union?
It is a two-part fitting connected by a nut: it allows you to easily disconnect a pump, filter, or water heater for maintenance, without cutting the pipe.
Which fitting size to choose (1½ or 2 in)?
Choose according to the diameter of your pool piping: most residential installations use 1½ in or 2 in. If in doubt, measure your pipe or ask for our advice.
Is the Praher Top Mount head compatible with my filter?
Top Mount heads replace the multiport valve of many sand filters depending on the fitting (1½ or 2 in). Tell us your filter model: we will confirm compatibility.
What is a check valve used for?
It prevents water from flowing back in the opposite direction, for example, to protect a pump or a salt system.
