Are you adding chlorine every other day only to find that it's already gone at the next test? In full sun, UV rays destroy up to 90% of free chlorine within hours when the water contains no stabilizer. Regal Stabilizer restores cyanuric acid (CYA) levels and acts as sunscreen for your chlorine: it protects it, extends its effectiveness, and directly reduces your chemical consumption.
A stabilizer that takes hours to dissolve can sit at the bottom of the pool and stain or discolor the liner. Regal Stabilizer is formulated to dissolve completely when applied according to the instructions, eliminating this risk.
Why choose Regal Stabilizer?
-
Protects chlorine from UV rays: your sanitizer stays active instead of evaporating in the sun.
-
Reduces chlorine demand: less product to buy and fewer adjustments throughout the season.
-
Dissolves completely when applied according to the instructions: no residue at the bottom and no risk of staining the liner.
-
Stabilizes your treatment: the right CYA level makes your water more predictable from week to week.
-
Two sizes: 795 g for a one-time adjustment, 1.8 kg for a full adjustment or a large pool.
-
Compatible with chlorine and bromine pools, both in-ground and above-ground.
Why Regal is our premium line
At Piscines Geyser, Regal is our premium water-treatment line. These formulations are intended for the specialty retail network, which means consistent quality from one batch to the next, products that deliver as promised the first time, and predictable results you can rely on to build a maintenance plan.
This is the line we recommend to pool owners who want the best for their water and for the equipment it flows through: heaters, salt systems, liners, and surfaces.
How do I use it?
-
Test your stabilizer (CYA) level. The usual target for a chlorine pool is between 30 and 50 ppm.
- Calculate the amount needed based on the dose indicated on the label and your pool's exact volume.
-
Apply the product using the method indicated on the packaging, with the pump running.
- Keep the filtration running continuously for 24 to 48 hours to ensure complete dissolution and distribution.
-
Avoid backwashing during this period, or you will flush out some of the product.
- Retest after 48 hours before adding any more.
Always follow the manufacturer's dosage instructions based on your pool's volume. Never mix this product with another chemical in the same container.
What many pool owners don't realize
Stabilizer does not evaporate or get used up: it stays in the water. It only decreases when water is lost through backwashing, splashing, or partial draining. As a result, it's easy to accumulate too much through repeated additions or the use of stabilized chlorine (trichlor tablets). Above about 100 ppm, chlorine becomes significantly less effective, and the only way to correct this is to dilute the water. That's exactly why you should test before adding stabilizer, and add it in small doses rather than all at once.

The Geyser extra 💧
Stabilizer is the pool parameter most often adjusted incorrectly: too low at the start of the season and too high by the end. Bring a water sample to our store in Blainville: we'll test your CYA for free and tell you exactly how much to add—or whether you shouldn't add any at all.
Frequently asked questions
What does stabilizer do in a pool?
It protects chlorine from the sun's ultraviolet rays. Without it, much of the free chlorine is destroyed within hours in full sun, and you keep adding more without ever maintaining a stable level.
What stabilizer level should I aim for?
Generally, 30 to 50 ppm for a chlorine pool. Some salt systems call for a slightly higher level. Have your water tested rather than relying on a general guideline.
How long does the product take to dissolve?
Allow 24 to 48 hours of continuous filtration. Testing too soon will give a falsely low reading, and you risk adding too much.
Can you add too much?
Yes. Above about 100 ppm, chlorine loses much of its effectiveness. Since stabilizer does not break down, the only way to lower its level is to replace some of the water. Always test before adding.
Is it necessary if I use trichlor tablets?
Often not, or only in very small amounts. Trichlor already contains stabilizer and causes it to build up in the water over the season. Have your CYA tested before adding more.
Which size should I choose?
The 795 g size is suitable for an adjustment during the season. The 1.8 kg size is the right choice for rebalancing after a refill, for a large pool, or at the start of the season.
