Does your filter pressure rise just a few days after backwashing, while the water still looks a little dull despite perfectly balanced chemistry? Your filter media is clogged with oils and grease that backwashing will never remove. Sunscreens, lotions, body oils, and organic residue eventually coat the grains of sand or the folds of the cartridge. Regal Filter Cleaner dissolves this residue and restores your filter’s true capacity.
Backwashing dislodges dirt; it does not degrease. That’s why a filter that has never been chemically cleaned can lose much of its efficiency while still looking clean.
Why choose Regal Filter Cleaner?

-

Why Regal is our premium line
At Piscines Geyser, Regal is our premium water treatment line. These formulas are designed for the specialty retail network, which means consistent quality from batch to batch, products that deliver on their claims the first time, and predictable results you can build a maintenance program around.
It’s the line we recommend to pool owners who want the best for their water and for the equipment it passes through: heaters, salt systems, liners, and surfaces.
How do you use it?
-
Sand filter: Backwash thoroughly, then add the product according to the label’s instructions and dosage. Let it work for the specified time with the pump off.
-
Cartridge filter: Remove the cartridge, rinse it with a hose to remove debris, then soak it in a solution prepared according to the label.
-
Rinse thoroughly before putting the system back into operation.
- Perform a final backwash or rinse, then note the new starting pressure.
Never mix this product with chlorine or any other chemical. Follow the dosage and timing instructions on the label.
How to track your starting pressure
Note the pressure on your gauge when the filter is clean, right after cleaning. This is your starting pressure. When the reading rises about 7 to 10 psi above this value, it’s time to backwash. If the pressure rises faster and faster each time, it’s not just dirt—it’s greasy buildup, and that’s exactly what this product tackles.

Frequently asked questions
Isn’t backwashing enough?
No. Backwashing removes particles, but not the oils and grease that coat the media. Only chemical cleaning removes them.
How often should I clean the filter?
Once or twice per season for normal residential use, and more often if the pool gets a lot of use or pressure rises quickly.
Does it work on cartridge filters?
Yes. The product is suitable for sand and cartridge filters. The method differs: add it to sand filters, and soak cartridge filters.
Can I use it while the pump is running?
Follow the instructions on the label. Generally, the product should work without circulation to dissolve the grease, then be rinsed away before putting the system back into operation.
