Is your water perfectly balanced in pH and alkalinity, yet it foams, damages your grout, or corrodes your metal parts? It probably needs more calcium. Water that is too soft is aggressive: unable to find the calcium it needs, it will seek it wherever it can—in the concrete, grout, seals, your water heater’s heat exchanger, and the metal parts of your equipment. Regal Calcium Plus restores calcium hardness and puts an end to this problem.
This is the water balance parameter most often overlooked, and it’s also the one with the costliest consequences: a water heater or salt cell costs a lot more to replace than a bag of product.
Why choose Regal Calcium Plus?
-
Protects your equipment: water heater, salt cell, pump, fittings, and metal parts.
-
Protects surfaces: concrete, grout, seals, stone, and coping are no longer attacked by calcium-hungry water.
-
Helps prevent stains caused by surface dissolution and metal corrosion when used correctly.
-
Completes your water balance: pH, alkalinity, and calcium hardness form a trio, and two out of three isn’t enough.
-
Reduces foaming often caused by water that is too soft.
-
Five sizes: 1.8 kg, 4 kg, 8 kg, 14 kg, and 20 kg, from minor adjustments to a full correction after refilling.
Why Regal is our premium line
At Piscines Geyser, Regal is our premium line of water treatment products. These formulas are made for the specialty retailer market, which means consistent quality from batch to batch, products that deliver on their promises the first time, and predictable results you can build a maintenance program around.
This is the line we recommend to pool owners who want the best for their water and for the equipment it flows through: water heater, salt system, liner, and surfaces.
How do you use it?
-
Test your calcium hardness. The usual target range is between 200 and 400 ppm, depending on the type of pool.
- Calculate the amount needed based on the dosage instructions on the label and your pool’s exact volume.
-
Add the product to the water, never the other way around. The product releases heat as it dissolves.
- Slowly distribute it over the pool surface in several places, with the pump running.
- Keep the filter running for 6 to 8 hours, then test again.
- For a significant adjustment, apply the product in two or three separate doses rather than all at once.
Never mix this product with chlorine or any other chemical, either in a container or in the skimmer. Always follow the manufacturer’s dosage instructions based on your pool volume.
“I have a vinyl pool, so calcium doesn’t concern me”
This is the most common misconception. A vinyl liner or fiberglass pool shell does not release calcium, but the water still needs it. It will then attack whatever it can find: your water heater’s heat exchanger, your salt system’s cell, and the screws and metal parts on your ladder and equipment. Vinyl pools need an adequate calcium level for exactly this reason.

The Geyser extra 💧
Calcium hardness is the parameter almost no one tests at home: basic test strips don’t even measure it. Bring a water sample to our Blainville store: we’ll test it for free, including calcium hardness, and tell you exactly what to add. This is often when people discover why their water heater wore out prematurely.
Frequently asked questions
What calcium hardness level should I aim for?
Generally, 200 to 400 ppm. Concrete or plaster pools should aim for the upper end of the range; vinyl and fiberglass pools, the lower end. Below 150 ppm, water becomes aggressive.
What happens if my calcium level is too low?
The water will draw calcium from materials, causing concrete and grout erosion, corrosion of metal parts, wear on the water heater’s heat exchanger, foaming, and sometimes stains.
What if my calcium level is too high?
The water becomes cloudy and scale builds up on surfaces, the salt cell, and the water heater. Since calcium cannot be removed through treatment, the solution is dilution. That’s why it’s important to test before adding any.
Is calcium needed in a vinyl pool?
Yes. The liner doesn’t provide it, but your water heater, salt cell, and metal parts are still affected by its absence.
How do I add it safely?
Always add the product to the water, never water to the product: dissolving it releases heat. Distribute it slowly with the pump running, and never mix it with any other chemical.
Which size should I choose?
Choose 1.8 kg or 4 kg for a seasonal adjustment. The 8, 14, and 20 kg sizes are for major corrections, a full refill, or very soft top-up water. They also cost less per kilogram.
