Variable speed under the Sta-Rite brand

Clarification on power
This pump is sometimes advertised as a "1 HP" model. The official figure published by Pentair and ENERGY STAR is 2.2 THP, or 1.001 HHP in hydraulic horsepower. It is the HHP close to 1.0 that explains the abbreviated designation encountered at some retailers. To compare two pumps, the WEF is what matters; here, it is 8.6.
No Wi-Fi on this model
The SuperMax VS features neither Wi-Fi nor Bluetooth. It is programmed via the keypad and can be connected to a Pentair automation system using the 356324Z RS-485 kit, sold separately.

It is ENERGY STAR certified in Canada, which is the main condition for rebate programs for replacing a single-speed pump. The terms and conditions are set by Hydro-Québec and are subject to change: verify the current conditions before purchasing.
Can it directly replace a single-speed SuperMax?
It belongs to the same family and accepts 1.5 and 2-inch fittings. However, expect to redo a few inches of plumbing on both sides, as the shaft height and the position of the fittings are not identical from one model to another.
SuperMax VS or SuperFlo VST?
Same platform, two brands. The SuperFlo VST carries the Pentair brand and features a WEF of 9.0 at 230 V. The SuperMax VS carries the Sta-Rite brand and features a WEF of 8.6. Both are ENERGY STAR certified.
