In brief: Pentair GloBrite color-changing LED light, 12 V, 15 W maximum, 50-foot cord. Five fixed colors and seven light shows. cULus listed, minimum installation depth of 4 inches underwater. Pentair part number 602054.
Is your pool light burned out or yellowish?
Old incandescent pool lights consume 300 to 500 W and emit a yellow light. The bulb burns out after a few hundred hours and replacement often requires lowering the water level.
A 15 W LED replaces this consumption with a fraction of it, while providing access to color. Pentair rates the light output of the 15 W GloBrite as equivalent to a 190 W incandescent.
Its compact size is another asset: it installs in a dedicated GloBrite niche, much smaller than a traditional niche, making it suitable for vinyl, concrete, or fiberglass pools.

On lumens
Pentair does not publish any lumen values for its pool lights, including the GloBrite. We therefore do not display any. The only official equivalent from the manufacturer is the one mentioned above: 15 W LED for the light effect of a 190 W incandescent.

The cord cannot be extended: choose the length based on the actual distance between the niche and the junction box, with some slack.
Frequently asked questions
Which cord length to choose?
Measure from the bottom of the niche to the junction box following the actual conduit path, then add some slack. A light with a cord that is too short requires redoing the entire installation.
Is a specific niche required?
Yes, a GloBrite niche. For vinyl, it is the 620039, delivered with white, blue, and gray rings. There is also a gunite niche (620040) and fiberglass niches. An adapter, the 618040, allows mounting a MicroBrite into a GloBrite niche.
Does it work in a saltwater pool?
Yes, up to 6000 ppm salinity according to Pentair, which easily covers the 3000 to 4500 ppm of a residential salt system.
Is a transformer required?
Yes. The lamp operates on 12 V and requires a suitable transformer. Have the total circuit load verified if multiple lamps are connected to the same transformer.
GloBrite or MicroBrite?
The GloBrite is 15 W and installs in a dedicated niche. The MicroBrite is 12 W, measures 3.5 inches long, and screws directly into a standard 1.5-inch threaded wall fitting, without a niche. The MicroBrite is the choice for an addition to an existing pool, the GloBrite for primary lighting.
Installation on the North Shore
Piscines Geyser sells and installs Pentair lighting in Blainville and the Laurentians. The electrical installation of a pool light is the responsibility of an electrician: we coordinate the work.
