In brief: Pentair lens gasket replacement kit for Amerlite pool light. Pentair part number 79101600Z.
Water or condensation in your Amerlite light?
The Amerlite is a sealed housing. The lens gasket is what separates the bulb and socket from the pool water. It works under compression, beneath a tempered glass lens, in chlorinated water.
It hardens and cracks over the years. Water then enters the housing, the bulb burns out prematurely, the socket corrodes, and the ground fault circuit interrupter eventually trips.
This gasket should be replaced every time the light is opened, even if the old one appears intact.

Frequently asked questions
Should the gasket be replaced every time the bulb is changed?
Yes. This is the golden rule for any submerged pool light: opening the lamp means replacing the gasket.
Where should the lamp be opened?
Out of the water, on a clean and dry surface, never at the edge of the pool. A drop of water or a grain of sand on the gasket seat will compromise the seal.
What to do if the circuit breaker trips?
Cut the power and have the light inspected. A GFCI trip on a pool lighting circuit indicates water ingress or an insulation fault. This should not be ignored.
