Is your pump making noise, leaking from the seal, and the repair technician is telling you it's no longer worth fixing?
A pool pump has a lifespan of 8 to 12 years. Beyond that point, the cumulative cost of seals, the motor, and the impeller exceeds the value of a new pump, and the efficiency is no longer there.
The Hayward Super Pump has been the standard replacement in Quebec for decades: it is efficient, reliable, and, most importantly, all of its wear parts will still be available in ten years. Its high-performance motor runs quieter and cooler, and its exclusive wing knobs allow the strainer cover to be opened by hand, without tools.

Sizing correctly
The 0.85 HP covers small to medium-sized inground pools. Many people buy larger ones thinking they will filter better: it's the opposite. An oversized pump pushes water through the filter too quickly, which then captures fine particles less effectively, and it costs more to run all season long.
Frequently asked questions
Single speed or variable speed?
Single speed costs less upfront. Variable speed costs much less to operate and generally pays for itself in a few seasons. If you plan on keeping your pool for a long time, look at the Super Pump VS.
Why 0.75 HP and not 3/4 HP?
Since the new DOE efficiency regulations, Hayward publishes the actual total horsepower. This pump replaces what was commonly referred to as a 3/4 HP.
