Which pump to choose with the S244T?
For a standard in-ground pool, opt for a Hayward Super Pump® VS 1.85 HP (W3SP2603VSP) or MaxFlo VS — optimal flow rate and energy savings.
How much sand is needed?
300 lb of #20 silica filter sand (six 50 lb bags). ZeoSand or AFM requires about 30% less. (not included)
Is the S244T good for an above-ground pool?
It is designed for in-ground pools. For above-ground, the S210T (21 in) or S180T (18 in) is better suited.
What is the difference between S244T and S244TC?
No technical difference. The "C" suffix denotes Canadian packaging — identical product.
How long does a Hayward ProSeries filter last?
The thermoplastic tank is guaranteed for 3 years and commonly lasts 15+ years under normal use conditions.
Is the VariFlo® valve replaceable?
Yes — the SP0714T 1½ in FIP valve is easily replaceable; parts are available at Piscines Geyser.
