Is your pool losing water and you don't know why? A loss of more than 1.5 cm (½ inch) per week is not normal and often indicates a plumbing leak, a punctured liner, or a faulty seal. Piscines Geyser offers a specialized service for pool water leak detection and pressure testing for in-ground pools made of vinyl, fiberglass, and concrete. Our team accurately locates leaks with professional equipment (compressors, hydrophones, colored tracers) — you pay for the repair in the right place, not for guesswork.
⚠️ This service does not include parts or repairs. Additional interventions may be required depending on the results.
Our leak detection service is offered in the same area as our liner replacement service:
❌ Service not offered in Montreal or on the South Shore. We concentrate our travel on the North Shore and the Laurentians to ensure reasonable response times and better service for our regional customers.
The leak detection service is available by appointment only. Here's how it works:
⏰ Variable lead times depending on the season. The service is in high demand from May to September. To inquire about current lead times or ask questions before booking:
Depending on the test findings:
How do I know if my pool really has a leak?
Do the bucket test: fill a bucket to the same level as the pool, place it on the first step, and mark both levels. After 24 hours, compare the loss from the bucket (evaporation only) to that of the pool. If the pool loses more than the bucket, it's a leak.
How much does a leak detection test cost?
Pressure test only: $300. Vinyl liner leak detection: $325. Combined Pressure Test + Leak Detection package: $625. Choose the variant adapted to your situation at the time of purchase.
How long does an intervention take?
From 1 to 3 hours depending on complexity. A simple pressure test takes approximately 1 hour. Vinyl liner detection can require 2 to 3 hours for a complete inspection.
Do I need to drain my pool for the test?
No. The test is performed with the pool full. We temporarily disable certain lines for the test, without draining.
What is the wait time for an appointment?
Variable depending on the season. During high season (June-August), allow 1 to 3 weeks. Call us at 450-818-8200 for current wait times.
Do you offer service in Montreal or on the South Shore?
No. Our leak detection service is limited to the North Shore, Laval, and the Laurentians. We do not travel to Montreal or the South Shore.
What if the leak is very large and urgent?
Call us at 450-818-8200. Depending on our team's availability, we can prioritize urgent interventions. In the meantime, lower the water level below the leak (often below the returns or lights) to limit damage.
Does the service include repair?
No. The service only includes detection and reporting. Repairs are billed separately according to the nature of the problem.
