Discover our sand pool filters at Piscines Geyser, your specialist in Quebec since 2004. A sand filter is the key to clean, crystal-clear water: it traps impurities while the pump circulates the water. Robust, durable, and easy to maintain, our filters are suitable for in-ground and above-ground pools. Delivery across Quebec and Canada.
How does a sand filter work?
Water passes through a bed of sand that traps particles; when the pressure rises, a backwash via the multiport valve cleans the sand. Simple and effective, it is the most common type of filtration.

How to choose the right filter size?
The larger the diameter (and the amount of sand), the more effective the filtration and the less frequent the backwashes. The size is chosen according to the water volume and the pump's flow rate. Our team will help you properly match your filter and pump.

Frequently asked questions about sand filters
What filter size should I choose?
The size depends on the pool volume and pump flow rate; a larger filter filters better and needs less frequent backwashing. It's best to avoid undersizing.
Sand filter or cartridge filter?
Sand is economical and simple (backwash); the cartridge filters more finely but requires manual cleaning. See our cartridge filters.
Is sand included?
Filter sand is usually sold separately. Let us know your model: we will specify the required quantity.
How often should I backwash?
When the pressure gauge shows a pressure increase of about 8 to 10 psi above normal.
